I have recently discovered that a previous employer has continued to put contributions into a workplace pension, despite me not working there for the last 2 years.
Would you just keep a bemused eye on it? The amounts are very modest and I have no intention of accessing it. Just wondering how long it will take for them to realise.

I work in pensions (auto enrolment specifically)

And it’s very common but will always eventually be discovered.

It’s up to you. Either draw it to their attention or don’t but obvs don’t get your hopes up that you will one day benefit from that cash.

Oh no. I'm not assuming that I will benefit. I assume there must be some sort of audit at some point. How common is it?

I'd probably leave it. I've tried to draw attention to these sorts of things in the past and honestly, the effort just wasn't worth it. They sorted it themselves in the end.

I think that's exactly what I will do. The entire place was incompetent from start to finish so I have no intention of doing my head in trying to communicate with them
