National Trust visit - help!

Hi - I have a birthday coming up and would like to meet a some friends at a National Trust property for a picnic. Let's face it - there's nowhere else to go! Sad

Has anyone booked tickets? I know they are difficult to get hold of but not sure if you can get tickets for more than one person or if you can only buy for yourself? Are they free to NT members? Do you know if booking opens in the early hours of Friday morning for the following week?

Thanks - I'd really appreciate any help. Have tried contacting the property directly but they are (understandably) struggling to deal with the numbers of calls and emails and haven't got back to me.

Just book online on a Friday. Very clear process. I booked 6 tickets at 1am ish just because I was awake but there were still loads when I woke up at a normal time!

If you're booking for NT members it is free but they will ask you for your card when you get there (and charge you if you don't have it).

I was wondering when it opens on a Friday as the place we want has been sold out for weeks.

But yes we it is really straightforward with an eventbrite ticket, just find the property you want on the NT website and follow the prompts.

It is free for members, very easy but the ones round here (south east) book up incredibly quickly. The more popular ones were sold out by 6.30am last week! Worth staying up until midnight if there is somewhere or a time slot you really want.

Thanks both. October - do you mean you got 6 tickets for the same time and venue, or 6 tickets spread out over the week?

Thanks Helena - I am south east too. Sad

I did get 6 tickets for Father’s Day but it was at my 3rd choice property at 1.30pm (slightly awkward lunch timing) so it is possible if you are prepared to be flexible. But if I was doing it again I would set an alarm for 12.15am and do it then!

I booked 3 tickets for a single visit. You do have to be sharpish to get tickets for popular places, though.

6 tickets for one place but on Friday morning I could easily have booked 6 places too! Loads of options. Just log on early on Friday.

So 12:05 and I'm refreshing the NT page like I'm trying to get tickets for a gig... nothing.

Any ideas when they are actually released? It would make my DH very happy for Father's Day if I could book tickets for his favourite spot but ... I need sleep!

Chasingsquirrels · 19/06/2020 00:10

They appear to be released for next week at my local site - I'm in an Eventbrite queue.
But it's w/c Monday 22nd, Sunday 21st tickets were released last week and are probably fully booked.

Emelene · 19/06/2020 00:28

Yep looks like tickets came out about 12:09, eventbrite queue straight away but I got tickets after about 15 mins. Smile

I happened to wake up at 5.30 this morning and managed to get 4 tickets for next weekend (27th). I checked again around 9ish and the the weekend tickets had all gone.

theoracle11 · 17/07/2020 20:51

Anybody been since they reopened? Particularly Tatton Park or Dunham Massey, how was it?

edgeware · 17/07/2020 21:15

@theoracle11 Tatton Park isn’t hard to get tickets for at all! I’ve been, was lovely. Food choice terrible though (barm with cheese or barm with tuna...) but otherwise all good.
