Vitamins

I already take a vitamin D tablet, a glucosamine capsule, and a black cohosh tablet (bad joint pain, and menopause symptoms!)
On another thread somebody recommended taking a B12 capsule and a garlic capsule to ward off the evil mosquitos, and as they eat me alive I was considering it....but is it possible to take too many vitamins????
I'm not hypochondriac, honest, although going by what I've written, you could be forgiven for not believing me!! 🤣

As long as your not doubling up on vitamins and the non vitamin ones your are taking don’t interact, it should be fine.
If in doubt, check with a pharmacist

Take one multi-vitamin.

Oh, I've been wondering this. I have a multivit which has 150% RDA of vitamins and 100% RDA of minerals except Calcium, Iron and Magnesium which it has 15%.
But if I take the same brand Iron tablets, they also have 300% vit B12, 100% vit K, 100% iron and 100% copper. So I'd be overdosing on those.
Same brand magnesium also has vit B1,2,6&12 etc.

Haven't a clue what to take!

you can OD on some vitamins, NHS site will advise. Do not believe any nutritionist (unregulated) or commercial site.

anti mosquito vitamins probably don't work. DEET does.

Vitamins and Mineral specialist here.
You can overdose on Vitamins A D E K all others you are fine to double up on. You can also take to many minerals, Zinc, copper etc. Vitamin B1 and garlic together are well known to prevent bites. Hope that helps 😀

Thanks, that's really useful. The mossies make summer miserable for me, I have to spray myself in repellant every morning else I'm eaten alive, which is rubbish for a sun worshipper like me, so I shall be buying the B1 and garlic now I know it's not going to do me any harm .

You’re very welcome. Make sure the garlic you buy contains Allicin. That is the active ingredient that makes it effective

If vitamins are water soluble you pee out any excess so can’t overdose.

The ones you can overdose on are fat soluble, ie if you take too much it stays in you. You have to be careful with those.
