Alternative chocolate ganache- would good work?

Any bakers out there. I’ve made a 50 cal per slice chocolate cake and the recipe has a ganache topping made with yoghurt and chocolate. I don’t have any actual chocolate. Would it work if I substituted cocoa powder (mixed to a paste with warm milk and stevia)? I’ve never made a ganache before and can’t find anything on google re cocoa powder. Any advice appreciated

No I don't think that would work tbh.

I take it you don't have double cream either?

RedCatBlueCat · 17/06/2020 21:13

No, i doubt it would work as a ganache.
You need the chocolate to set and thicken the covering so it doesnt just run off.
The cake could be nice served with a dollop of yoghurt on the side tho?

Thanks . That probably explains why there’s nothing using those ingredients to be found on google.

No no double cream but the recipe uses yoghurt and chocolate . It’s the latter I don’t have though.

Umm no. That doesn’t sound very appealing and wouldn’t be the same. Need a seal as such otherwise won’t the cake just dry out.....

My neighbour has saved the day bless him and brought a share bag of chocolate buttons that I can melt down !
