Farrow and Ball downpipe versus railings

I have bought Farrow and Ball downpipe, but am concerned it may not quite be dark enough for me.. I wondered if anyone has used Farrow and Ball railings? They say it's a blue black but it looks like a darker grey to me?

It's going to be one of those colours that looks different in different lights. To me it's definitely on the blue scale but I'd get a tester and check. I have a room painted F&B Off-Black and it's very very dark but lovely! Recommend that

Furniture in downpipe and it’s not as dark as I would have liked... go darker before you start and regret it like me!

My bannister is railings and i would say it's a very dark grey

I'm painting my kitchen cupboards. Just wish it was a wee bit darker.. More charcoal like.

DownPipe isn't as dark as I thought it would be. A 'deep' grey, but much lighter than charcoal. I didn't get a tester before painting (fence) and it's definitely lighter than I imagined. So much so that I wondered if I actually meant to buy Railings.

We have railings on a wardrobe and I would say it has very strong blue overtones. I personally think it looks like a deep navy. And the room isn’t particularly light.

Have a look at Neptune, coal and a charcoals paints.

Agree Downpipe isn't that dark. We've got Railings on woodwork and it looks a dark blue-black.

Have a look at Scree by Little Greene, it’s a pretty dark charcoal, a bit darker than downpipe and more of a true grey than Railings. Better paint that F&B too in my opinion.

Aargh.. I had looked at Scree but thought they were the same. Silly me!

Was just going to say F & B is not good paint, any scuff or mark you try to touch up will still show and you will end up re painting the whole wall.
