For those in Scotland

Has anyone managed to rehome a rescue dog in Scotland. I’m registered with a few rescues but not being successful at all.
Just wondered if anyone else had managed to do this?

Fife dog rescue are great. 2 of my dogs are from there.

I'm in Scotland and have rehomed from the SSPCA as well as an international charity. Barking Mad Dog Rescue usually have some Romanian dogs in foster care in Scotland.

Yes though not me but I know a few people who have. Definitely two but possibly three or four.

I know one woman who has rescued twice over the years after her first rescue died Of a medical issue. She was happy to take older dogs though and the breed were both a staffie.

Are you looking for a young dog or a specific breed because that really narrows down the chances apparently.

Do you know why you're being turned down? A lot are very strict on things lile gardens, having someone at home all the time etc..

I’ve not been turned down (yet) just not heard anything. we are at home all day (DH is but I sometimes go out). We have a large fully enclosed garden. I think it’s due to Covid and the shelters not being fully open.

Maybe we are being a bit picky with what we want just not been approached with any yet. (Would love a Westie or similar)

We got our lovely, late dog from the Dogs’ Trust - they are starting to get their revoking up and running again.
