Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z... Covidians?

Was chatting to my mum on the phone last night and she made the point that, as she and my dad are 'late boomers' and my sister and I 'millennials', so my soon to be born DC (that's currently using my bladder as a plaything) will probably be counted as the tail end of 'Generation Covid'. It suddenly struck me (wearily) that that's what they're going to label them, aren't they? The generation after Gen Z will be the Covid Generation.

Have been spending the morning so far (instead of working) trying to think what the buzz term will be. Covidians? Covoids? Coronials? I can't work out which of the available options makes me least nauseous.. Grin

I doubt it would stick, although there will be a long term shockwave through the education system of children with poor access to education for 6 months (please, please let September be full time for all)

Whatever happens with vaccines/ herd immunity, we are going to have to learn to live with this permanently. We'll know that we're living with it when social distancing is dropped and large scale entertainment events resume.

Then this will all seem like a bad dream. Some more permanently marked than others.

But a baby being born now will have no awareness of this and no lasting impact. It's too much of a blip to really shape a generation collectively.
