We've booked a holiday!

Dh and I have just booked a holiday for next month. I am so looking forward to it even though I'm aware there is a chance it may not happen.

It's a week in a self-catering cottage in Suffolk. We chose one with a lovely garden where we can sit in the evenings if the pubs aren't open.

I'm just looking forward to a change of scene.

Anyone else got a holiday planned?

We booked directly with an owner, we have been to this cottage before and it's a bit of a home from home for us. We can postpone till next year if necessary.

Good for you OP. I think - bearing in mind that the hospitality industry in England is due to open on 15/07 - you should be fine to go on holiday. Hope so as we have a cottage booked in July as well.

I have thought about booking somewhere but just don't see the point if everywhere will be closed.

Me and DH visit museums, castles, stately homes etc on holiday. Plus although we are both happy to cook it is nice to have at least one meal out and that would not be possible either.

I would rather save my money and stay in our own home where we know we have a comfortable bed, decent cooker, sky, netflix etc.

I will cancel ours if it's as it is now queues social distancing nothing open...but at least got something to look forward to

I've visited different coasts the last 4 weekends and quite a lot of stuff is open. I noticed mini golf and my favourite fish restaurant (for takeaway) was open last weekend. The atmosphere been great in all four places, people mooching around, eating ice cream and enjoying the scenery. I think I'm another few weeks some pubs, rerestaurants will be open.
