After a lot of uncertain years our son is now being rewarded in his job.
After starting work on an apprenticeship at 16 which finished before he should of with the company folding.
He went to a warehouse packing. Back to the apprenticeship. Then working on the roads patching holes. Street cleaning. Bin emptying.
Working in a warehouse again packing. And doing any job in between.
He is now working in the same field as his apprenticeship which was over 20 years ago.
After being in this job for 3 years today he was given a very large payrise and a new job title. Which means that he and his wife can now afford to buy their own home.

That's terrific 😊

We are so very proud of him. And our Dil who had a very difficult upbringing she was in foster care until she was 16. She had no qualifications and no idea of getting a job.
They met when she was 17 and Ds was 18 moved in with us as her last foster family didn't want her anymore as the money stopped. They got married at 23 and 24.
She walked the full length of an industrial estate begging for a job. And from then on she has also had numerous jobs, receptionist, cleaning, dog walker, packer and after going to night school passed a lot of exams.
She is now not only a great mum but a financial director.
They and us are so excited that they can now afford there own place. At the moment they live in 1 bed and 1 box room cramped council house.

@Noidea2114

How WONDERFUL!!! You must be so very proud of your son and your daughter in law. It just shows that a good work ethic and persistence really can pay off in this world.

I hope that you are also proud of yourself and your DH/DP for opening your hearts and home and taking in your DIL when she needed help. How very kind you both are. 🌹👏🏻
