I knew my hoover was crap... I've practically made a second cat!

Just took a pumice stone over my bedroom carpet to get all the cat hair up and I'm amazed and disgusted by the amount! It was hoovered about a week ago, for context.

Time for a new hoover I think!

We thought our carpets weren't too bad - hoovered most days with a Dyson Animal. Then DS had to do a Zoom fencing lesson involving lots of footwork indoors (normally does it in the garden but it was raining) and the amount of thick black cocker spaniel fluff that the soles of his trainers dragged out of the carpet by the end of it was unbelievable! Really want a Shark now but we only have space to store a cylinder vac and Shark only seem to do uprights.

Used to do a similar thing with a shower squeegee, it really works, so satisfying! But I’ve lost our old one in a house move.

Shark only seem to do uprights.

My shark upright is really small though as the long stem folds in half.

@Soupdragon - that's really useful to know. Thank you!

JacobReesMogadishu · 16/06/2020 13:43

Which is the best shark upright? I want a new vacuum.

SoupDragon · 16/06/2020 13:44

It's about 70cm high when folded and is the Duoclean with the lift away top.

Those little felt hats are astonishing.
I don’t know what to say.

QuestionableMouse · 16/06/2020 14:29

There are some super talented people out there! Those hats are amazing! I'm sadly not so talented in the felting department.

I have a rubber brush that I usually use but it has unfortunately gone awol (suspect that the cat hid it because I keep threatening to take it over her! 😂😂)

I discovered that Crocs (the vile shoes) do the same.. it's amazing how much hidden fur comes out if you rub it across the carpet... with Maine coon cats and a double coated dog I should get a spinner and knit a jumper!

ChocAuVin · 16/06/2020 17:40

I got a £1.99 rubber brush and dust pan from Lidl that has been nothing short of life changing (my life aspirations have clearly contracted somewhat in lockdown Grin)

Certainly gives an epic arm work out but — oh! The piles of dust and hair! So satisfying...

I have the Miele cat&dog. I hate the fucker.

That's made my day! Thank you. I won't buy one (not even in my dreams).

I'm glad I was too poor and have saved myself a lot of money. I shall stick to my dog brush! Grin
