My son (now 10) did go to our local Scout group but left because of bullying by some of the other boys.
I really feel like he's missing out on the skills and experiences though, is there anything similar he could try before the urge to watch TV and play computer games all day consume him completely?
I've been having a look into it and can only find Woodcraft Folk (seems too political and the only local group is a bit too far to travel) and Boys Brigade (way too religious by the looks of it). I did think about seeing if he could join another Scout group but he doesn't want to do that because he'd be the oldest one with no badges, plus the waiting lists are insane around here. Any ideas?
I really want to nurture his outdoorsiness and help him find like minded friends his own age before it's too late!
