Kids are cleaning...

and I'm sitting on my hands to not go and interfere so it's to 'my' standards!! I should just be happy they are cleaning, right?

They have been annoying me so much (8 and 9.5yo) this week with their entitled attitude, that I have said if they want to go out for a bike ride later, they need to clean the house!! To be fair, they are doing it (with a lot of hilarious commentary) whilst I sit in the bedroom trying not to direct them more than the initial instructions.

What do you think - will I need to 're-clean' the house afterwards?

It'll be messy before soon so no point in recleaning their cleaning

True MrMagoo! the meaning has started though 'why do I have to clean the toilet' 'Why do I have to clean the plates away'....aaagh! I feel like telling that as legally I don't have to anything more than feed, clothe and shelter them, they are on their own!!!

They get better with practice!

As a one off, it will probably be ok to be left. If they clean it next time too, you will notice bits that dont get done. I tend to find one thing each time they clean to spot as can be improved, and show them how to do it properly.

Good advice RedCat, I was thinking that they will definitely be doing this regularly and spotting one thing each time to improve is a good idea.

I've just attempted to steam clean after they had allegedly hoovered but its seems hoovering means just hoovering the central bit of any floor!!!
