Graduated MA in jan after 4 years as sahm.
Before that I worked for a government agency around 40k more IT and data side.
Started new job in March 27k a year lovely job people really nice but 1 year contract and it’s a district council level job.
Now the same job role has come up at county level slightly more money but prospects much better and its working on county wide/regional plan which im used to.
Would I be awful to apply for another job at this time? My manager in current job is lovely and thinks 99% sure I’d be kept on.

Yes new job is permanent with opportunities for moving up in the future within same organisation.

Current one there would be possibilities of moving up but it would be waiting for someone to leave or retire. But lovely working environment probably the nicest team I’ve ever worked with.

Yes definitely apply! Why not. Can always then make a decision once you get offered it

Mummyshark2018 · 14/06/2020 12:58

If new one is permanent then I would apply. Whilst current employer might say you will be kept on there's no guarantee.

LittlePeepoToy · 14/06/2020 13:53

Thank you yes heart saying stay it’s less money but nice team and no stress but head says go for new challenge, better prospects and it’s permanent contract.
The only other downside is if I don’t get it it will be awkward as we all work under the same umbrella so will be seeing each other st meetings going forward.

Yep go for it. I've known many people told they'll probably be kept on at the end of their contract only to be let go after all.
