In my house or

in the world? Or what?

Need more info.

Provide.

EBearhug · 14/06/2020 12:31

I'd be very, very busy and then very unemployed.

At home, I'd be fine. I've got enough books to read, gardening, knitting, sewing...

FraughtwithGin · 14/06/2020 12:31

Very few people would be working at home.
Some people would be relieved and return to a kind of normal, non-digital existence.
A lot of people would revert to drinking, drugs, violence because they need to be "entertained" 24/7.

Pinkyyy · 14/06/2020 12:33

Ew at "Discuss".

TroysMammy · 14/06/2020 12:35

I'd get loads done. Crafting, make cards, make miniatures for my dolls house hobby, bake, make sausages, defrost the freezer, garden, use my sewing machine to make clothes, clean the house, declutter, cuddle my cat. Loads of things would get done if I didn't have the internet as a distraction.

growinggreyer · 14/06/2020 12:35

Well as the Internet is the actual wires, computers, servers etc it can't be turned off.

The Sun could emit an EMP that would knock out all electronic devices on the planet. It might still happen, and 2020 would be the year for it.

Hagisonthehill · 14/06/2020 12:42

When I moved to our current house for some reason we had no internet for 6 weeks and no television as we can only get a few Freeview channels badly.
I had just lfty ex with my DD,12 at the time.
If was good as we had to communicate and got to much done together.
No moodiness, stripping, boredom or hiding on the phone.
I couldn't hide on the phone either do the timing was perfect.
We are changing providers soon so may be disconnected for a few hours(or longer as the new router hasn't arrived yet)and I am going to extend the gap for a bit.She still has he phone but not endless data.

namechangenumber204 · 14/06/2020 12:46

My job could no longer function - and definitely not WFH! I don't think the job I do existed before the www... and it's a Gov Dept!

borntohula · 14/06/2020 12:50

Like others, I would be more productive. I don't know what the impact on a larger scale would be though.

StoorieHoose · 14/06/2020 12:52

Op you obviously don't understand what the internet is

iklboo · 14/06/2020 12:55

Facebook, Twitter, InstaPrick, Snaptwat, etc. would disappear instantly. Where's the switch, I'll flick it now!

PhilCornwall1 · 14/06/2020 13:12

Posted too soon.

The problem is though OP, you can't actually switch "it" off, the internet doesn't work that way.

PerspicaciaTick · 14/06/2020 13:14

Society would tear itself apart.

BelugaWales · 14/06/2020 13:16

I'd use 4g, watch normal tv and go about my day.

Errrr... 4G is just a telecommunications standard. A tool used to transmit data to and from the internet. It would be pointless if the internet was turned off.

jamandtonic · 14/06/2020 13:30

Why are you asking?

Actually, you didn't ask... you instructed.

blacksax · 14/06/2020 13:31

We wouldn't end up reading shit OPs like this.

So all good really.

Isthisfinallyit · 14/06/2020 13:42

I remember the time when we didn't have the internet in the households. It was fine. We read books, played games, listened to the radio, watched tv, visited friends, looked up stuff in the encyclopedia and talked to each other.
