Spotify - am I doing something wrong?

Decided to resurrect my old account and I'm not getting it at all.

I created a playlist and when I play it on shuffle it plays 4 of my songs then x2 30 second ads. I can actually live with that but its adding songs to my playlist so I'm having to use my 6 skips an hour and I'm still stuck on something that I didn't actually add to my playlist???

What am I doing wrong?

I think if you use the free version unless you have a certain number on your playlist then it adds in extras. I vaguely recall it's 20 songs? So unless you've got 20 of your own choice, it will add in for you.

There is something called auto play which you can turn off in your settings. Unsure if it is a premium feature though

If you haven't had it before there's a 3 month free premium trial. It's really easy to cancel as well as you can do it all yourself on the website or the app, so you can avoid the annoyances of Spotify free for a few months!
