Holiday in France/with Eurocamp this summer....anyone else wondering what to do?

We are/were planning our summer holiday on a Eurocamp site in France, late July this year.

We need to pay our balance soon and are unsure as to whether we should.

I'm concerned that if the holiday goes ahead it will be too stressful (queues at supermarkets etc) and spoiled by the pool/bar being shut. It's a lot of money for us to pay for a damp squib holiday!

The Eurocamp website is quite confusing, but it does seem that you can transfer the money (if you pay) to the same holiday next year instead.

Anyone else in a similar boat? Anyone have an clue what the situation in France is like at the moment?! I know it's impossible to predict the future this year, just wondered what others think.

We were booked to France. We cancelled it when all the talks of quarantine Began. Like you, I don’t want a second rate holiday. We weee able to get a refund d though

Was on a similar thread recently.

We were going similar time to you and have transferred the booking to next year. As you say, even if we can travel there's no way of knowing what the holiday will look like and will be disappointing if things aren't available. (plus the will we/won't we need to self isolate after for 2 weeks which is annual leave we don't have).

The online transfer process was easy, we decided not to pay the balance and just spread the remainder over the year.

We transferred to next year. Even if you could travel we didn't want to be there and not able to use pools or facilities. The stress of 'what if' was overwhelming us to be honest so we just transferred

Thanks....think we'll pay but transfer for next year- pretty sure you can do this online on the Eurocamp site with a promo code type thing.

Yes it's really straightforward. You don't need to pay your balance until 12 weeks before your transferred dates though, we've just transferred our £99 deposit

We’d already paid for everything, flights included, before lockdown.

The campsite (not Eurocamp) has confirmed they will be open with pool, cafe etc all open and local beaches open too. We’re not camping so have our own chalet.

The only thing that will prevent us going is EasyJet or quarantine. Either way we’ll try to claim from credit card company.

Frankly we need a holiday and as long as there is sun, beach, pool and pizza that’ll do.

I already transferred mine to September and now I'm regretting it. We were going on the train and ferry with small kids. So I don't know what to do now. Transfer again to next year perhaps?

We were supposed to at a French campsite (Yelloh Village) right now- they are open to some degree but only opened a few days after we were due to arrive. They have automatically sent us a voucher to be used at any campsite next year.
In your shoes I’d transfer to next year. Safest and best all round option.
We are still hoping to do something (probably UK based) in August if allowed
