FORTNITE Season 3 help please

BigBairyHollocks · 13/06/2020 10:49

My 9yo DS is on about season 3 of FORTNITE starting on June 15th, because it says on his switch game “2 days until event”. Does anyone know please if this event is the same thing as the new season starting please? I read online that the new season starts on June 17th, I am just trying to figure out the difference between what happens on 15th, if anything, and what happens on 17th. I hate these flipping games Angry

According to my DS (12) its a live event taking place on the 15th. The new season then starts on the 17th.

Hope that helps Smile

The events are separate. He needs to be on 30 mins before event goes live to secure his spot. I think it's just watching some event that connects the storyline or finishes a storyline

Not a clue, however I do have a 12 year old who spends his entire life on Fortnite at the moment. This is his reply to your question:

Yes i believe it is probably. the doomsday device will change the map thus the new season will start. It might not even need an update.

DS says at the end of nearly ever season they do a live event and then a few days later the season ends. The live event is sometimes delayed.

and he says it's the 15th for the event and 17th for the season.

Thanks, I had been reading about it online earlier but couldn’t fathom what the two dates meant.Pain in the flaming neck!

@BigBairyHollocks Fortnite IS life. You must realise this?!Wink

ATomeOfOnesOwn · 13/06/2020 11:12

If you check Fortnite's Twitter feed they usually tell you the time of the live events. Sometimes Fortnite's servers struggle so as a PP said you have to log in/play about 20 mins before it. When it's an end of season event it's basically like watching a little movie that finishes that season's theme, sometimes hints what the next season's theme will be and changes the map. Some are more interactive than others.
The new season starts on the second date.

@thefamousfiveplusone it certainly is according to my DS! I don’t think playing 20 minutes before it starts is going to be an issue for my DS either. Well suppose it’s lovely he has something to enjoy.

It can also get very busy and glitchy so prepare for meltdown 101 if he can't access it 😂 hate the bloody game. He can watch it on YouTube after though. If he is at the event sometimes they give free stuff and sometimes you get free stuff if it is very glitchy. I'm sorry I asked my son the question now as I've had to listen to ten mins of fortnite chat 😂 bless him, he thinks I'm interested 😂

BigBairyHollocks · 13/06/2020 11:42

Oh Jesus if it breaks he will lose his bloody mind😭Apologies that you’ve been dragged into Fortnite chat by helping me!
