What nest is this?

It’s about the size of a golf ball. I’ve had a look online but I’m not sure.

Wasp I think

Looks like a wasps' nest. They pulp wood and use that to build them with. I'm pretty sure they don't go back to a nest they've abandoned. Are there signs that it's in use?

Solitary wasp species.

We had one dangling in our shed for several years, they re-used it but it never got any bigger.

Thanks everyone. It just seems so small. It’s in our loft. DP said he didn’t notice any activity so must be an old one.
