Some sort of keepsake, like paperweight

I have tattoos with dh’s ashes in them. Not for everyone I know and I don’t tell everyone. Gives me a huge amount of comfort.

Lardlizard · 12/06/2020 22:20

I have jewellery made by a company called Cherished Urns that I found online and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. The whole thing was done so thoughtfully and kindly. They emailed when they received the ashes I sent them and communicated every step of the way. Sorry for your loss Thanks

Moving backwards Thank you but I’m thinking of this to try and help a friend Wine

I have my daughters ashes in a necklace, company is called ashes into glass

motherstongue · 12/06/2020 22:55

I work for an undertaker and we provide jewellery for ashes through a company called Funeral Products. You will be able to google them (sorry, rubbish at doing links). Your undertaker may be able to help with this. The quality is very good. Ash to Glass is also really nice. I’ve also known people to get fireworks with ashes in them to use to celebrate their loved ones life

Shallilly · 12/06/2020 22:57

Lard, I have a couple. One is a tattoo of the last present I gave to dh, and the other is similar to this, with the notes from a very significant song.

I bought a necklace from www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Thoughtfullkeepsakes

You have to put the ashes in yourself, but the seller includes instructions and equipment (like a mini funnel) so it's really easy

pennow · 13/06/2020 19:46

I have just had 3 necklaces made with my sons ashes. The company was
Ashes with art.
They were lovely to deal with and the jewellery is beautiful. They also do wall art.

I used Ashes into Glass and made a bespoke ring. I chose rose gold 18k gold and chose the glass my Mums ashes were interred into. Chose a beautiful colour and had it engraved. Cost about £700 but was the best thing I ever did. It’s a beautiful cocktail style ring and I ALWAYS get compliments on it when I wear it. The colour of the glass is like the sky and I look into it and think about her.

I got my baby's ashes added to a beautiful pendant made by Sugarberry Memorials. I got it form their etsy shop but it looks like they have many more products on their website. Very sorry for your loss.

I mixed a handful of my dad's ashes with sand from a beach he used to take me to when I was a little girl, and funneled them into a small glass jar. They made a beautiful pattern. My dad and I had a difficult relationship, but that little jar reminds me that, once, I loved him very much.

In our family we had a candle holder made with the ashes inside the glass, so now we can light a candle as well. Turned out really beautiful and it's we love lighting a candle in the evenings. Loads of other glass ashes memorials to choose from.

Another vote for Ashes To Glass. I have a ring with my great uncles (closest I had to a grandfather growing up) ashes in a ring. I wore it the day I got married in particular so in a way he walked me down the aisle with my dad.

if I remembered correctly they had quite a varied catalog including rings, earring, pendants and even vases. You can customise the metal you want and the colour of the glass itself. As I only had a small ring the funeral home only sent the company a rather literal tablespoon of his ashes while the rest were interred with the family plot.
