What do your 7 year olds use to listen to music at home?

Mine has a CD player but I feel like I need to get with the times now! (I’d like Alexa but DH has vetoed this as he doesn’t trust it).

What do your kids use? I don’t even know where to start looking. But embarrassed even writing this tbh.

My 7 year old has an Alexa, there's one in each of the kids rooms, my room and the kitchen. I find them really useful as do the kids. Nobody would have any interest in listening into my house!

peajotter · 12/06/2020 17:07

Spotify playlists on the tablet.

Buddyelf · 12/06/2020 17:09

Alexa here as well sorry. I don’t think we’ve had a CD on for about 10 years.

CD player because I refuse to get rid of any of my CD collections and she likes to explore it and discover (new to her) music.

When she's sat outside shell use Spotify on her tablet.

ElephantGlove · 12/06/2020 17:11

Old phone (no sim) and speakers

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/06/2020 17:14

Mine have a little radio each. Mostly tuned into Rock music stations.

Bmidreams · 12/06/2020 17:16

Our Spotify on their tablets.

Spotify via an echo.

LouiseHumphreys81 · 12/06/2020 17:20

Apple music on an old phone of mine.

Microwaveoven · 12/06/2020 17:23

A cd player!! And we only have 2 CDs and one is a Christmas cd. I often get dressed in the morning listening to "rocking around the Christmas tree"

They don't need anything.else at this age

ginsparkles · 12/06/2020 17:27

Amazon music on her tablet

cliffdiver · 12/06/2020 17:31

Spotify and Amazon on Echo / iPod / iPad.

They also both have an old CD player my mum gave them.

OatyMcOatface · 12/06/2020 17:33

An old school dial-tuner radio in the bedroom, Spotify via an alexa in the living room & kitchen (by far the most used device).
We have a CD player but don't have cds of the music she likes (which weirdly is traditional Irish (the dubliners) and blues)

tempestterra · 12/06/2020 17:35

CD player in bedroom. And ancient iPod (mainly used on car journeys) but can be used with CD player speakers.

TangointhePark · 12/06/2020 17:44

Alexa in his bedroom - my kids both have very wide tastes in music so just being able to ask Alexa is a good thing.

Microwaveoven · 12/06/2020 17:55

Alexa is never a good thing!!

Teacher12345 · 12/06/2020 18:22

Echo dots for both of ours.

Bohomie · 12/06/2020 18:41

One of my old mobile phones, no sim. Has his own playlist he's put together on YouTube

YerAWizardHarry · 12/06/2020 18:42

Spotify via a Google Home Mini. He isn't super interested in music though, the most he hears it is probably in the car

devildeepbluesea · 12/06/2020 18:42

Alexa in her room.

Frozenfan2019 · 12/06/2020 18:50

Spotify and headphones on her tablet. She also had a mini bluetooth speaker but it broke.

Ostanovka · 12/06/2020 19:27

Mine has a cassette player! CDs are newfangled in this house! Blush

Yellredder · 12/06/2020 19:32

CD player here for the 9 year old. Kudos to Ostanovka!
