Weddings

I can’t quite get my head around the fact that weddings still haven’t been given the go ahead. Even outdoor ceremonies with the smallest legal number of 5 people (couple, witnesses, registrar).

We’re not bothered about a ceremony. We literally just need the paperwork signed so we can start a family! We’re a same sex couple and the legalities of both being classed as parents (with all the rights and responsibilities) are much simpler if you’re married.

Anyone else waiting to get married?

My son has just postponed his wedding (August) until August next year. just because they have been planning their wedding for over 18 months and couldn't have the day that they want in the current circumstances.

I also know a divorced couple that are waiting to remarry with just two witnesses. Hopefully they will be able to do so soon. He isn't dying but he's unwell and they want to get remarried for reasons of a financial nature.

I hope you and your partner are able to marry soon and start your family.

How peculiar! Just after I posted this the ceremonies team called to say the gov are now allowing them to start preparing for weddings again!

Thanks lazarusb I hope everything works out for your friends and son.
