Have just steamed off layers of wallpaper right back to the plaster, the undercoat also came off with the steamer. So now i have bare plaster, bought the correct undercoat/plaster sealer
The problem is that the person who painted the skirtings/doorframes did so with a thick layer of gloss about an inch or so onto the plaster from the frame, so there is a proper step. The wallpaper was stuck over this. The gloss paint did not come off with the steamer.
I tried sanding the ridge down but it i can still feel a thicker bit when i run my fingers. Will a primer/undercoat even it all out or do i have to strip it all back 😫 I don’t want the ‘step’ visible under the final paint 😫😫😫
