Anyone have Airpods & recommend?

Thinking of treating myself to some airpods as been out walking so much more lately. Can only stretch to the standard ones not the pros.

Anyone who has them, are you happy with them and do they really stay in when walking/exercising? What are the benefits of them..slightly wondering if they are just a gimmick?

Thanks

I hesitated for ages but gave in and I do love them and use them everyday. The sound is amazing.

Thanks everyone, I think I will treat myself to some. Is it worth paying £30 more for the 2nd generation version 2 ones or just go with the original version?

Actually just realised the extra £30 is if you want the wireless charger..

I have the second generation my boychild has the first. Can’t remember what the difference is... they look exactly the same. I only have the second gen because I couldn’t get the first generation....

Look at John Lewis for them. When I got mine they offered a free 2 year guarantee which included loss. Just in case.

I adore mine but wouldn’t replace them with the pros as I don’t like the shape of those pretty sure they wouldn’t stay in my ears.

Thanks @swampytiggaa that’s helpful

Love mine. Wear them running and they never budge

Mine do budge during housework, gardening etc but I think that's because I have shoulder length wavy hair and it catches on them. I never wear them for running but I tie my hair back for that so they would probably be fine.

I love my AirPods! Use them all the time!

I’ve had the ordinary Apple AirPods for a while and they are very good. Since lockdown I’ve used them a lot as other people in the house are WFH and I don’t want to disturb them. I use them mainly for listening to audio books or chatting in the phone while I do the housework /cooking/gardening. I also use them for films/box sets on my tablet and for Zoom calls and Zoom yoga classes. DH has been using his for his many, many Zoom work calls. They’ve been invaluable during lockdown.

One drawback we both found was that since lockdown we were both using them so much they were running out of battery halfway through the day. So we invested in the new Apple AirPod Pros. However good the originals were, the Pros are even better. The battery life is longer and the noise cancelling function is very efficient. Now we each have the two sets if the battery on the one we are wearing runs out we can switch to the other pair.

Incidentally, I did buy a cheaper, non-Apple pair of Bluetooth earbuds a couple of months ago. The sound quality was good tinny but good enough for audiobooks but the connectivity and battery life was dreadful. I spend more time resetting them and charging them than I did wearing them. In the end I gave up and chucked them out.
