Homeschooling project ideas.

Homeshooling is getting harder each week as DS is getting so fed up. I was thinking of making Fridays a bit more interactive as I don't work Fridays so can make more effort.
I was thinking of doing a shopping list for a days food and adding it all up and showing budgeting. Maybe something on healthy eating like getting him to add up all the sugar he eats in one day and comparing it to how much he should be having.
He is 7 (year 2) and his main interest is science but we do loads of science stuff.
Has anyone done any mini projects or indeed big ones we can do over time?

We’ve got a big colouring poster of the world and we look up where our fruit and veg comes from. We stick the stickers from bananas, pears, apples, mangos etc... around the outside and colour in the country. We now have fun searching the supermarket for countries that we haven’t yet coloured in. Got some bananas from Costa Rica today!

Record shadow length and position over the course of the day using chalk to draw round the shadow and standing in the same spot each time. Needs to be a sunny day though. Also works by sticking a pencil upright on a blob of blue tack in the middle of a piece of paper and marking the shadow. Best done at hourly intervals.

Record maximum daytime temperature over the course of a month (if you have a device which can do so) and plot a line graph.

Make shadow puppets and put on a shadow puppet show. It was just me and my dc so we filmed it on my phone to watch back later.

Stop motion animation or a flip book.

Make a map of your local area, putting on all the places and landmarks which are important to you.
