Would it be wrong of me to ask to be allowed to use the men’s toilet at work?

Until fairly recently I’ve pretty much had the ladies to myself, it’s the only one in the building and is basically a storage room with a loo and sink in the corner. A few months ago, 4 more ladies moved into the building so of course I now have to share it

Out of the 4, 3 of them have got health issues which mean they have to use the loo very often so there’s almost always someone in there when I need to go, and I’m fast approaching 50 and can’t always wait 😬 I’ve been very close to an accident a couple of times

The men’s is a room with 3 cubicles - no troughs - and apart from the odd occasion is only used by 2 men

Do you think I can ask to be allowed to use it or not?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to ask for the ladies and gents to be swapped if there are more women than men using them?

Just say you identify as a man between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. Seems to work for blokes who fancy accessing women’s spaces.

So 2 men have 3 loos between then and 5 women have one loo? If there are more than 5, they have to provide more than one toilet legally so I'd ask them to swap, given that they are close to legal limit for women and nowhere near for men

I didn’t know there were legal limits, thanks for that

A swap is a great idea! Hadn’t thought of that

LOL at pretending to identify as a man

I might just ask them to swap them, why didn’t I think of that?!
