hi all,
I have been waiting just under a month for my smear test results (my gp was one of the first in my area to start doing them again- in their words "they dont want to put others at risk unnecessarily" which I'm grateful for) and was told, within 2 weeks I'd have the results. she said with all this going on she would actually expect them to be quicker as they do not have a backlog where the routine smear tests were not being carried out.
I have just rung up and been told I could be waiting 5/6 months. does this sound right??
half a year seems a ridiculously long time, its causing me great anxiety and is wildly different from the within 2 weeks I was told at the appointment. I would of understood a bit of an extra wait with everything going on but half a year!? so Christmas!?
not sure what I'm asking, guess not a lot I can do about it but that seems a long time to have this hanging over me
