Best French App for My son

Hello!
My Year 7 son is struggling with his French at school. He had a very basic vocabulary from primary school (VERY basic!) but since lockdown is finding it impossible to keep up with the work set by his french teacher. There are no online lessons, just work set, which is hard as he is unsure of pronunciation etc. I only did German at school so no help to him whatsoever! He is lucky in that he is very able in other subjects but he is really struggling with French. He also has Aspergers so has a lot of anxiety about not being good enough which is why I want to try and find some way of helping him with his French learning at home before going back to school (whenever that is!).

So to cut a long story short - which online courses/apps etc would be the best for him? Did think of an online tutor but can’t afford it really on a regular basis.

Duolingo?

Duolingo would help with sounds and vocabulary. It doesn't teach grammar in the way you would learn it at school but it's free and easy to use and fun.

Have you tried Michel Thomas method which helps with speaking and grammar.?
You can buy the CDs online.
For listening, he could download podcasts such as coffee break French which is fantastic . He can download it on a smartphone or computer

I enjoy the Coffee Break French podcast. DD abc are are listening to series 1 on the way to school and there's lots of pronunciation tips.
