What are some things you wish you’d done before lockdown?

Mine is citizenship application - everything is going to take forever with it now ceremonies etc are postponed so risk of going beyond Brexit transition period.

Had my son’s hair cut 😂

Some of these medics related issues: I thought some offices were seeing people for emergencies. Having broken glasses that are glued together and an old prescription is definitely an emergency or at least a version of it anyway.

Had my father's funeral
Scattered his ashes
Had his memorial service

Got my phone screen repaired, gone up north to visit family in Feb half term (planned over Easter), taken my children to the big park in the next town.

Left my job whilst I could.. stuck now with a bullying boss and no way of getting another job.... and if there are cuts to be made I'm sure I'll be first on the list to get made redundant!

I didn't want to jump for the wrong thing so I was being fussy.. can't win..

Booked my filling for a week earlier - it was booked in for the day after my dentist closed. Likewise smear test.

Not booked expensive tickets for a gig in a city that is a flight away. It’s been postponed but not cancelled, so struggling to get money back. Tickets, hotel and flights - about £500 in total.

MsAwesomeDragon · 10/06/2020 18:28

I wish I'd had my hair cut and visited the dentist.
I look quite a state now, and I really, really need my teeth looked at but it's not quite urgent enough to be an emergency they would see right now.

Giveronyoursausage · 10/06/2020 18:28

Hugged my mum a little bit tighter. She died alone in hospital a month ago.

Trytowin20 · 10/06/2020 18:29

@42andcounting the Asda nearby me has an opticians open. Worth checking, you can call them before you go, they all look so bored when I do my shopping so they would probably be happy to help!

DinosApple · 10/06/2020 18:38

Seen MIL more.
We used to see her every week, but due to illness we only saw her once from new year to March 6th. Then I got ill again and the care home locked down so we couldn't. She died a month ago, from Covid.

Also wish I'd seen my mum and dad too.

Other than those purely emotional things, gone to the tip!

Wish I'd got the dog clipped. We'd left his coat over winter and he was due to be clipped the week lockdown hit.

Wish I'd insisted the dentist filled my bloody tooth which broke in half just before lockdown. He sealed it with something very temporary and told me I'd need to make another appointment.

Rotationz · 11/06/2020 23:42

Thanks for responses so far everyone

Wish I’d od’d on time at my local NT gardens as dreaming about going there and can’t get a slot.
Been for a swim as desperate for one now!
