Facebook blocked could I have been hacked??

Myself and my daughter have both had our facebooks blocked today.. we are both stumped as why because we've not broken any of the rules. The have no access to our messenger either but 'Facebook' sent a code and then we were asked to confirm our identities by sending photo document ID ie passport or drivers license. I'm not very computer lit so wondered if this is the norm or if I've been hacked what do I do? I cannot access anything to do with fb and do not want to open a new account unless it's an absolute must.

It could be that someone was trying to access your accounts. FB would usually lock an account after a few password tries or if logged into from an unknown location or device until you prove it's you who's trying to log in. Not sure what you can do really. Hopefully someone with some knowledge comes along.

I've been asked for a code before, I sometimes type the pass too fast and prob make a mistake, but photo of ID sounds fishy. Sure it's not a scam of some sort?

FB does tend to ask for photo ID to prove your name is really you if your account is locked (so they can unlock it) but I wouldn't send one though.

Northernsoullover my daughter loves ska music and she plays it and sometimes I play it for her, she has a skinhead hair cut and attends once yearly charity nights ( she is wheelchair bound with cp) and contrary to the old skinhead stereotypical type there's many skinheads who love the old Trojan type music but are too old too be anything other than big softies, if her choice of music is seen as 'racist' that's crazy and sadly many will miss out on amazing music because some idiot has deemed it as 'racist' what is this world coming to?🤦‍♀️ I've just had a msg saying that my PayPal use has almost reached its limit all seems mighty fishy to me.

A lot of my friends had accounts blocked today (not racists) for the reason in the link I posted. They are now back online. Have you had any luck?

Northernsoullover we are back on no explanation given nor ID sent. My dd and some of her friends are skinheads ( not the hateful extremist sort) and they do lots of charity work in the community, no hate speech on their posts etc... and they've all been taken off today! 🤬 how can the discriminate against a group of people without any justification??? You have to wonder wat sort of idiots work as 'fb moderators' I'm fuming 😤

As you can tell by my username I like Northern Soul and through the scene I meet a lot of people who like skinhead culture (music, clothing). Absolutely unbelievable that this group were deemed far right extremists by Facebook yesterday. I don't know if you read the link I posted but even Neville Staples got the chop. I'm glad its been sorted.

This happened to me with no explantation. Sent a pic as you have been requested to and it took them 2 months to reinstate it!
