Red light camera?

Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone knows if a rectangle black small box on a traffic light - box facing downwards is a red light camera?

No. Those are for detecting cars waiting at lights. The red light cameras for enforcement are yellow, and take the photo from behind.

@wanderings just to curious and maybe you can help. What if the small box facing away from the direction the traffic is coming from. So it cannot see the front to the car but it can see the back of the car.

Or are all red light cameras big boxes?

I think most red-light cameras are big yellow boxes, but cameras like the one you describe might be for enforcing other things: stopping in yellow box junctions, for instance.
