Question for business owners/ self employed

Would you use a part time FD service if you don’t have an in house FD?

I’m thinking of starting up as a portfolio FD: I know there are several companies through which such a service is offered, but I’d be independent. I would be very grateful for answers to the following:

My background is as a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser: would this be a selling point to you?

Would you prefer someone specialist in your field such as property, tech, retail etc?

What services would you expect me to offer?

How would you prefer it to be priced? Hourly, fixed fee, retainer etc.

Would you prefer face to face meetings (post Covid obvs) or be happy with virtual?

Would you value an online community of clients where people could discuss issues in their businesses and share experience?

Please feel free to add further comments.

Thank you so much!

I have worked for a small business which took advantage of such a service, so yes, there is a call for it. From memory I think he charged a flat monthly fee, was available over the phone and by email as necessary, and came into the office every few weeks for a meeting. He also did the annual return and advised on the owner's personal taxation etc.
