So I’m currently looking for a career change and an Executive Assistant role really appeals to me. However, at the moment I work in a new business function for a global advertising agency. My experience is all sales based and day to day my role involves a lot of pitching, negotiating and contracting at a senior level with big brands.
I want to get out of sales for various reasons and I have a big passion for organisation, planning and management so I was thinking an EA role in either advertising or technology could be ideal. However with no experience outside of sales I’m not sure I stand a chance without taking a big pay cut and going into an entry level role.
I wondered if it might be worth using my spare time now to do some sort of online EA training course? I’ve had a look and there seems to be a huge variety out there so I’d be really grateful of any recommendations or also knowledge of whether it would actually be a waste of time and whether there’s something else I could be doing to increase my chances of getting an interview.
TIA
