Need help matching this paint

This colour was already on the wall when I moved in and I'd love to know exactly what it is so I can use it in the hallway. I tried a sample of polished pebble but it looks bluey in my hallway where this is w pure pale gray. Any ideas?

A dove grey?

It's hard to tell exactly from your pic, but I have a Dulux paint called Chic Shadow in my house and it looks similar, it's a lovely shade of grey

I got a tester of chic shadow aswell but is a lot darker than this

Try Laura Ashley dove grey. Just thinking it's a possibility because it's quite a 'pebbly' grey.

Paints can look completely different in different lights though, so I might be inclined to give up matching and look for a colour you like in the look of in the hallway. I have sampled a million greys lately... I have a room in dove and polished pebble, and when they are wet they both look identical, I was very cross when I realised that I had touched up a bit in the wrong one!

I painted one room in a mushroomy colour, when I put it in another room it looked very very pink!

Good lunch in your search!

I'm round the twist with it. The painters coming on Thursday so I'm panicking. I just want a nice pale grey with no hints of any other colour. I've painted one wall in my living room a skate grey which I think looks really nice but too dark for hallway. DP is no help as his reply to everything is 'yeah it's nice' 😤

This is polished pebble sampled on my wall. I don't know if I'm just being too picky though and thinking it's blue tinted as that's what other people have said about the colour

I used wickes paint in nickel in one bedroom. Its lovely paint to use and a true grey, reasonably priced too.

Have you got a B&Q near you with a Valspar colour matching counter?

dreamingofholiday · 08/06/2020 17:10

@oblio I've got a sample of that too but it didn't look right in my hallway. The bit where they mix paints at my local b&q is sectioned off at the minute

The same paint can look different in two different rooms due to light levels, how much natural light there is and what direction it faces.
