The Perfect Mattress?

Looking to upgrade to a Super King, and that means a new mattress. DH concerned that memory foam is too hot to sleep on, however, pretty sure technology has moved on? What do you have and would you recommend?

I have a talalay latex one from latex sense. Temperature neutral, doesn't sag like all the other types, supportive yet comfy.

I have an Eve mattress. Had it a couple of years now and absolutely love it. I’ve not found it too hot and it keeps its shape really well. I’ve got a back condition and find it really comfy and supportive.

Anyone have a Hypnos? DH is leaning toward that, but I'm not sure...

We have a Therapur actigel mattress. It's pocket sprung with a gel top layer. We were going to buy a mattress in a box but got suckered into trying the interactive bed at Dreams and this mattress was one of the ones recommended for us. We didn't pay full price. They had a couple on clearance which had damaged to the plastic delivery packaging and a dirty mark on the rolled edge on the bottom layer. We saved £600 buying it this way.

The gel doesn't get hot like memory foam. It's a huge help dealing with my night sweats thanks to chemotherapy.

I’m looking at latex sense , which model do you have?

Had the premier Inn Hypnos and it was way too firm - woke up feeling as though I'd been pinched. Tolerated it for four years and now have a latex topped pocket sprung mattress which is the comfiest thing in the world but also supportive.

Punched not pinched. One day I'll check my posts before I post them Grin

There was a memory foam one in the holiday cottage I went to last year. I don't know what brand it was but I know it was less than a year old. DH and I felt like we were cooking and this was Yorkshire in October, so not tropical heat or anything.

Personally, I don't like the feel of memory foam. It's like I'm being slowly swallowed by the bed, like something out of a Cronenberg film.

We've always had Heal's mattresses, only had two in twenty years. Highly recommend them. We buy their own brand, not the Vispring ones.

We have a super king Tempur mattress and the technology has moved on from the one we had previously.
