Good Quality clothes

I am 30 years old and would like to start investing in good quality clothes. Most good quality stuff appears to be aimed at a more mature market. I am a black jeans and nice top kind of person but my black jeans for example are wearing thin at the seams 6 months later. Can anyone recommend a good brand that would last a good couple years of being worn 2/3 times a week? Also just shops in general with good quality clothing, petite a bonus as I am only 5ft.

I know it's a huge cliche around here, but Boden really are of good quality, and practically the only quality company who make petites. I'm 5ft 1 and have several of their dresses. Don't be put off by their characteristic prints- they actually make a lot of plain stuff if you have a look through, just that the plain stuff doesn't get shown in their marketing as much.

Two other quality companies who've started making petites within the last year or two are Hobbs and Seasalt. Hobbs isn't much help though as it's mainly workwear. Seasalt make quite a number of petite tops now, so it's a worth a look through although it does depend on if you like the style or not.

But actually, I get most of my tops from Collectif and a few other vintage-style brands. That's because they're designed to be a slightly cropped length on people of average height, to go with high-waisted skirts and trousers, so they're actually the perfect length for me, very often 21 or 22 inches. Again, please don't be put off by Collectif's styling if you're not into vintage style - they actually make a lot of plain stuff now.

For jeans I always buy Levi's. The initial cost may be eye watering but I am able to buy the exact waist and leg combo I need in the style I want. I have some that are probably 5 years old and now look "lived in" rather than old and tatty IYSWIM?

Lands End jeans last me for years. I live in them. I tend to buy them in the sales.
