Ideas for 4 year old boy.

Ds will be 4 soon and need ideas for his birthday. He loves trains/cars/diggers etc but already has lots of those types of toys. Although he does enjoy construction type things.

He has lots of brio train track, but I don’t think getting more is a great plan. (We managed to get a huge second hand set for Xmas so don’t want to get even more!)

He’s not really into messy play/colouring etc, so not sure those sort of ideas would be worthwhile.

He already have stuff like a bike/swing/slide and we don’t really have much outdoor space. Sort of contemplating a trampoline but not sure we have the space and it would take up to much space.

Looking for a few ‘big ticket ideas’ as well as smaller ideas for family. Any suggestions would be more than welcome!

Dd recently turned for and hungry hippos was a big hit as well as an outdoor tipi and her first playmobil set.

Other things she enjoys

Orchard toys games and pop up pirate, tumbling monkeys game, vet set, pirate dress up, kidizoom camera, duplo (but could move on to Lego)

Lego. Get the 4+ sets. Loads of diggers/cars etc to build.
Maybe get some books about vehicles/trains(Usbourne or DK type books)
To be honest if vehicles are his thing you could just get a few Hot Wheels. You don't always have to go big.

We have far to many toy cars 😂. I think we have more toy cars than Argos at the moment.

Ooo like the idea of stuff like pop up pirate, hungry hippos so they can definitely go on the list.

I like some of the playmobil stuff but we don’t have acres of space to store and playmobil looks like it’s not easy to store!

I was looking at the Lego city sets which seems to suit his age group, so good to hear those are suggested.

Normally get a few books for him, so will definitely have a look at that. Not so keen on marble runs. I’ll 100% end up standing on the little fuckers!

Any other suggestions would be great!

Marble run
Bike or scooter if he doesn't already have them.
Lego (or Lego junior, whichever you think would suit him better)
Teifoc do construction sets with real tiny bricks to mortar together which are quite fun.

Quercetti tubations are a huge hit here. Endless play opportunities!

Construction straws

Bath toys

Maxi micro scooter for the big ticket item?
