Is this a miscarriage

Firstly sorry if this isn’t the right place.

I think I’m having a miscarriage. I’m 40 and do not have any children but have been pregnant (and had several late miscarriages before).

Sorry if tmi

My period has started late - but been odd - massive clots and heavy enough that I leaked onto my sofa with a tampon and also a towel on.The clots are huge

Sorry know I’m talking gibberish and too much info - but a bit ... I don’t know...

Id phone non-emergency 999 number (can’t remember which it is 101 or 111????) Sith that amount of bleeding.

Ach you poor thing. I don't know if it is a miscarriage - how late are you? It is possible to pass clots and weird stuff just in a period but with it being late and heavier than normal it does sound like a possibility. Is there anyone there to take care of you?

Namedchanged100 · 07/06/2020 01:12

I do have endometriosis- but this is like nothing I’ve had before. As I say don’t want to be too graphic - but had put a tampon in and a new “night” towel on - and hab thick trousers on and “leaked over my sofa.

Never known anything like it. But other than seeking tiered don’t feel unwell

How often are you changing?

Namedchanged100 · 07/06/2020 01:14

God my autocorrect! Other than feeling tired don’t feel unwell.

@LilyMarshall the thing with the sofa happened about maybe ten minutes after I’d had a bath and changed everything. I do have heacy periods and often far more painful than this.

But it’s the clots - one looked liked (and I’m sorry to be graphic) a tiny... well .. body;,, sorry know that sounds weird to say

Oh god think I’m being a bit mad. It probably was a very large clot. Also have had a miscarriage before and oddly wasn’t so much leaking etc as this. Am wondering if this is what an early menipoause is maybe like

That amount of bleeding after ten minutes is not great. Can you call the Non-emergency line? See what they say?

How late was your period.

Namedchanged100 · 07/06/2020 01:19

Sorry am babbling .

@LilyMarshall I’m not entirely sure - not hugely late - maybe two weeks at the most.

This was interesting and explains the clotting. If a period is heavy the lining can’t be broken down as fast

I will call them in the morning. I do always have heacy periods - like very heacy - but this been unusual

Again without sounding or being weird / since it started my dog hasn’t left me alone - like he’s been crying at me

Habe sort of ignored bit jist flooded my sofa for the second time today - and it’s working me a bit.

Oh thank you! That article has made me feel better.

Id still rather you called a medical line. Twice in one day is a lot.

AriettyHomily · 07/06/2020 01:41

My periods have started being like this, I'm 37 and definitely peri. I've also had miscarriages that involved no clots.

I think the advice was to get medical attention if you are soaking a pad ina hour which it sounds like you are.
