Could I remove my own coil?

Well, that basically. Really suffering with pelvic pain, random bleeds, horrific mood swings and erratic emotions. Called local sexual health clinic and they just said they aren't doing "routine removals" and I should keep an eye on their website for more info. Being in Scotland, it might be months before they could take a booking, and it's uaually a 2 month wait at best of times. Really struggling with it and just want it gone!

Absolutely not. Please don't even think about it. If you are that desperate please see your GP - they can remove it safely.

Ooh no. You could perforate your uterus!

No please don’t even think about it, phone your GP, tell him you are in pain and bleeding!! Taking it out yourself could do untold damage.

Thanks for the advice. I will call the GP on Monday and try to get it resolved professionally.
