What is this on Iron Man’s leg?!

DH found this Iron Man figure in a bush while out on our walk. It’s a well-established path, but next to farmland and not that close to anything. Any guesses at what it is attached to it’s leg? Or why?

Looks like the end bit unscrews??

Plaiceholder · 06/06/2020 15:15

That looks like the Mark III armour from 2008 / Iron Man movie. It was quite under powered so that addition may well be an additional thruster to enable high atmospheric flight conserving enough power for de-icing. A problem not foreseen at the original design stage and one that had catastrophic results.

Of course it might also be his drug stash. Or a geocache.

Moreisnnogedag · 06/06/2020 15:20

I’d guess geocache...

SimonJT · 06/06/2020 15:21

Its a geocache, please return to where you found it.

mnahmnah · 06/06/2020 15:24

@Plaiceholder I thought as much Grin

I did wonder if it was a geocache but it seemed too small compared with others I’ve seen

Some geocaches are tiny, I found one on a trail once that was just a tiny ball magnet painted red.

mnahmnah · 06/06/2020 15:25

@SimonJT don’t worry, we did leave it there! Didn’t want to get in the way of a possible drugs transaction Wink

@SimonJT so they don’t have any information in them?

Geekery at its finest, geocaching. Toss it into a river!

mnahmnah · 06/06/2020 15:34

@MittensTheSerpent

Haha! Can you imagine the chaos that would ensue?!

We’ve only done geocache once. Big mistake. With a toddler in a buggy at a very hilly Longleat Center Parcs. Exhausting!!

Magnet so it can be stood up in position?
