Hi all my oldest dc is starting high-school in September, we are considering buying a chrome book to help with high school work, does. Do people with high school aged children think they are useful? Thanks

I bought one for Dd for over lockdown although she's not at high-school. It has been great for general word processing and Internet access, the only downside has been she hasn't been able to log on to her schools google account as she was already signed into her personal one for the chrome book. So might be worth checking with the new high school whether they use Google classroom many do, however mine is transferring to Microsoft over the summer and so are the other academies in the Trust.

My dc had them for high school and they were perfect - still going now after years.

They're good for the internet but they don't do everything a Windows/Apple laptop does and the MS Office apps leave a lot to be desired. I briefly had one while doing my Masters as the price was too good to pass up. Google Docs is fine but I had to email my stuff to my work PC to convert to a Word doc and save as a PDF, etc.

I ended up getting a refund and buying a refurbished MacBook.
