It looks genuine but old, was it supposed to be new? It's really hard to tell though because I tend to have the ones with plainer lining.

No, no date given and not bothered by how old.

The zoos, labels and poppers on the back all look the right colour etc.

MouseholeCat · 05/06/2020 22:43

I can't see on the picture, but are the buttons embossed with Barbour? My 2 jackets are.

What does the fabric label say that the fabric is? I would compare that to the fabrics listed on similar mixed fabric ones on their website.

What makes you think it isn't legit?

Barbourbuyer · 05/06/2020 22:46

Yes, buttons are embossed as far as I can see on the originals. Can’t quite make out the composition on the label.

Mainly that I can’t see the black part of the floral lining replicated on any other with a floral detail, and it looks as if it could be asymmetric by the lapels? If that makes sense.

Otherwise have been very happy / confident enough but wondered about a couple of niggles.

Yes it looks legit.

Is there a big market in counterfeit Barbour?

MouseholeCat · 05/06/2020 22:51

It looks like it would have been part of their Liberty print limited editions. I don't think counterfeit makers would go that far to fake a Barbour as they aren't super pricey anyway and they would probably go for a more generic version. I've seen fakes of the quilted ones that are really obvious.

Barbourbuyer · 05/06/2020 22:51

Great, thanks.

Big market? Just a bit!

A lot of trouble if it isn't.
Mine is 30 years old, re waxed twice. Looks totally wrecked now.
That looks crinkled but certainly not wrecked.
Nice jacket either way.
