Boy

tolerable · 05/06/2020 18:28

yes

WaxOnFeckOff · 05/06/2020 18:29

I used to get the opposite with my son, blond curls and petite features, even in dungarees and a top with trucks on it, people still referred to him as a boy.

Clymene · 05/06/2020 18:29

Girls because scalloped edge. Which is absurd really.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 05/06/2020 18:29

Girl

mumof2nanof1 · 05/06/2020 18:29

Girl

MintyCedric · 05/06/2020 18:32

My daughter was constantly mistaken for a boy for the first year especially as she had short blonde hair and although I'd do dress her pink she also wore a lot of bright colours and denim.

Funnily enough your pic immediately reminded me of one I have of her in a very similar outfit!

MintyMabel · 05/06/2020 18:33

The girls? Fucking pastel pink, pale yellow or white...all with bloody frills and flowers.

Mine’s 11. Afraid to say it doesn’t get any better as they get older. Frills are a real problem as they irritate and itch. That’s why we shop “boy” most of the time. Impossible to get underwear without frills from most places.

sarahj86 · 05/06/2020 18:33

Girl

timetest · 05/06/2020 18:33

Either. Nice comfortable practical clothes.

timetest · 05/06/2020 18:36

Just noticed the frill. Everybody knows that a Frill means a girls. Daft really.

Biber · 05/06/2020 18:39

I can't tell if babies are boys or girls unless their nappies are off.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/06/2020 18:39

Could be either but I'm leaning more to girl.

SquigglePigs · 05/06/2020 18:42

I'd assume girl but wouldn't be enormously surprised if it's a boy.

JudgeRindersMinder · 05/06/2020 18:42

Going by clothes only, I’d say girl, however looking at the hands I think it’s a boy (and I apologise unreservedly if this is your daughter and she has broad hands!)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/06/2020 18:43

People often used to take my dd for a boy. It could have been an easy assumption to make as she was a bald as coot. However at the same time she was always in frilly dress ect.

Uselesstwatmagnet · 05/06/2020 18:43

Girl. What’s the answer

worriedquaver · 05/06/2020 18:43

Girl because of the frill but wouldn't be weird if a boy wore that tbh.

AFewScrewsLucy · 05/06/2020 18:44

@FlamingoAndJohn

Either. Does it matter?
Nope

My DD was always called 'he' as a baby/toddler because she had no hair until she was 3, never bothered me (or her) but drove my mum crazy. I've always leaned towards neutral clothes as they are nicer and more practical, but lots of people bought her lots of pink/frilly/pastel/flowery/nauseatingly girly stuff so it was a decent mix.

Ds is 6months and in mostly neutral clothes, a lot were his sisters, and never gets mistaken for a girl...

DappledThings · 05/06/2020 18:45

Totally get your frustration with others OP. DD is 2 and still wearing clothes that are from the "boy's" section. A combination of her brother's hand-me-downs and new ones. The frills on sleeves or only have silly cap sleeves on tops are really annoying.

And pyjamas seem to come in a much tighter fit than boy's ones. The first set I bought her when she was about 18 months were from the girl's section and only last about a month because they had silly rouched sleeves that made them too tight and were just generally too snug. Same size from same shop but allegedly boy's ones and they lasted months. Ridiculous.

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 05/06/2020 18:45

I'm guessing boy and you wouldn't of asked if it wasnt for the top. The top suggests girl so for that reason I'd say boy.

LivingThatLockdownLife · 05/06/2020 18:45

Girl as the top has lettuce hem.

No lettuce hem boys tops!

CatsOfSummer · 05/06/2020 18:48

I’d say a girl based on the top, the scalloped edge and palette make it look like it’s from a ‘girl colour’ multipack.

The trousers could be either but probably girl.

That’s based on my own inbuilt assumptions. My kids wear whatever they like, DS has his nails painted if he wants, etc etc etc.

Leflic · 05/06/2020 18:51

I would have said boy because of the trousers.
I think it’s more likely that parents put a young ( pre walking) baby boy in “girly“ clothes than a girl in boys . Baby girls always seem really gendered whereas boys get put in tights, pale colours etc
Until they start walking, then it’s the other way round.
