30 free hours and redundancy

DH is going to be made redundant from the end of August. DD is suppose to start nursery and get 30 free hours from September. Obviously we hope DH will get another job in the mean time but with the current situation it's definitely not a guarantee.
Suppose to apply for 30 free hours code from mid June to end of July. The main condition of the 30 free hours is that we both be employed. When I complete the application that will technically be the case so would you just do that? Obviously when you reapply 3 months later if he hasn't got a job I will obviously not get another code.
If I don't apply and don't get a code then he finds a job then we would end up having to pay for childcare when we technically shouldn't need to. WWYD? Thanks

You fill it in based on your circumstances at the time, so when you fill in the details he will be employed and you would say that on the form.

Sorry about the redundancy and hope he finds something soon.

Apply for your current circumstances, there is a grace period anyway.
