Experience of reading eggs?

Has anyone used reading eggs? If so, is it worth the subscription with a toddler or should I wait until toddler is at school and learning phonics?

I had a go at a free trial and to be honest I found it just another front in the war against screen time. I can see it might be nice for some kids but my DD just lost her mind when she couldn't play anymore. She's not super into trying to read but loves books. She is 3 so I don't worry too much as it's not really necessary to improve her skills

We used it, Dd loved it just be aware that some of the pronunciations of phonics are US/Australian and not quite the same as the ones we use. I would say its more aimed at reception+ not toddlers though.

My children use it at school as a treat. They started it once they had learned their phonics.

I subscribed only yesterday for home use and my kids love it. It is hard to get them off it though but there are worse ways to spend screen time than learning to read!

Personally, I'd be inclined to learn your DC learn the phonics when at school and then use reading eggs as practice and encouragement to read.

My DD aged 3 loves it, she asked if she could play it after seeing one of the children I nanny using it. There's a category for age 2-4 and she absolutely loves it. I downloaded it and immediately cancelled the subscription so we only have it free for 30 days, but if she's still as interested in it after a month, as she is now, then I'd definitely consider paying.
