How to watch old camcorder tapes?'

Dd is 19 and the first 8 years of her life were pre camera phones. I have a pile of old tapes but no longer have the camcorder.
Is there some amazing piece of technology I don't know about that I can watch them on?!
I'm totally clueless and really would love to watch them Sad

You can get them digitised, it'snot cheap though. Have a google in your area.

I had some old slides done as the slide machine was knackered but it was £££.

Years ago now, but we had some very old video recorder tapes - a Betamax VR! - transferred to DVDs, the best option then.
It was a local company, I’m sure Google will help you find someone.

See if you can get a second hand camcorder from ebay to play them on?

The Timpsons in my town offer a tape to DVD service.
A friend took a couple of tapes in and they made a very good job of it.

A friend offers this. He's based in Suffolk. PM me if you'd like his details.

I know it sounds silly but I'm scared to send them away, they are so bloody precious!
I will check eBay, see if I can spot my old camcorder!

I had the same problem..A mixture of sized tapes too! So I hunted down Old camcorders from boot sales/charity shops/Cash Converters and friends..I then converted them myself onto DVD with an adapter I bought from Currys/PC world..about £20.. (This format was already outdated then but at least I could view them! )
Took weeks but it was lovely seeing it all again..
One day I'll edit it all into one 'film' and give copies to all my friends the bits with their children in...! Hahaha!

Do have the adaptor to play it on a VHS machine ? I'm sure you can pick both up cheaply
