Can you be made redundant on Mat Leave?

What are the laws/rules regarding being made redundant on mat leave?

Yes it is possible, my friend was made redundant on MAT leave a couple of years ago.

Yes. If the job disappears, they can hardly magic it to keep on going. If the company goes bust, if the department closes. Happens all the time and definitely will more in this economy.

Yes, but if there are any suitable alternative roles you must be offered them in preference to anyone else.
