Existential misery, anyone?

Anyone else have a feeling of unhappiness and fear churning away in the back of their whole being?

The state of the world is awful. Humans have trashed this beautiful earth - from individuals leaving litter without a thought, to industrial monstrosities cutting the rain forest, to acid rain destroying coral reefs. Painting kittens, setting elephants on fire. Humans are the most brutal of animals.

And poverty is set to rocket, with its attendant miseries and abuses, while the rich get obscenely richer.

Hatred and violence everywhere- against the "other", whether they are Black, women, Muslims, immigrants, the wrong colour or gender or religion or nation.

Incompetent leaders everywhere we look: a global culture that promotes and rewards our innate animal selfishness. A global mass media that revels in male violence.

Despite our "progress" and many, many skills, humans don't appear to have learned anything about greed or selfishness, tolerance or respect. I'm not talking about "you" as an individual, I'm sure you're lovely and doing the very best you can under shit circumstances- I'm talking about the mass of humanity and it's leaders, and what a fuck-awful state we have arrived at.

But perhaps it's the weather that's made me feel so bleak. Or does anyone else feel this way?

Yes, I feel like this all the time. I honestly believe the only solution would be for the human race to become extinct, leaving the planet and other species to recover - before we destroy them all completely.

I agree with you that a rise in poverty is inevitable, which will lead to more misery, crime and so on. The future is very bleak indeed.

When you change the things you look at, the things you look at change.
