Please can someone help! My daughter has accidentally deleted a Minecraft World on her iPad. Does anyone know if it's possible to restore it, and tell me how? She is absolutely devastated.

I will send much virtual cake and gin to anyone that can help! Cake Gin

According to my DS (13), he doesn't think you can get it back. He may be wrong of course.

Although saying that I've just googled it and there are videos explaining how you can get it back. So fingers crossed for you daughter.

Thank you. We may try an iCloud backup restore, but that will be only from April. But better than nothing.

Has she accidently logged herself off her I pad and gone back on as a guest user? My DS had somehow managed to do that, there were plenty of tears when his clash of clans game had vanished! We fully logged it off and went back on his account and it came back, I can't for the life of me remember how we logged out though sorry. Hope you manage to retrieve it

No, she wanted to copy the world, but accidentally clicked delete instead. Sad

I found this on Reddit, but it can only be done on a Windows PC:
• Go to your start menu and search run. Alternatively you can press the Windows button + R.

• Type "%appdata%" then press OK.

• Go into your .minecraft folder, then your saves folder, then (if you remember the name of your deleted world) copypaste the world folder into the same saves folder.

• Go back into Minecraft and play your recovered Minecraft world.

Posting just in case it helps Smile

I did also find this incredibly informative article: primagames.com/tips/what-do-when-your-minecraft-world-gets-deleted

It’s written by Prima Games and they’re a legit source; they’re a game company that’s been around years.

“At time of writing, the modern version of Minecraft (Bedrock Edition 1.14.60.5, released on April 15th, 2020) doesn't have any options for recovering a world that's been deleted outright, since the game stores its files locally. You may be able to retrieve deleted files on the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by right-clicking on its saves folder and selecting "Restore previous versions," but in general, deletion for a Minecraft world is a one-way trip. You may get lucky if you act fast with data recovery software, but it's like trying to retrieve any other deleted file; the longer it's been, the worse off you'll be.”

Thank you Hearts, but unfortunately it was all on the iPad.
