Quick child maintenance question

If the father is on a joint universal credit claim with his new partner, does he not have to pay anything as its classed as her income too? Thanks

Does child maintenance have to be paid if father is claiming benefits? at very least is it not a minimum amount, so.small that 8ts not worth the hassle?

Oh, I dont know how they would decide that.

However, if someone is solely living on benefits then the child maintenance payments are only a few pounds a week. I would assume they would still take that.

Its £30 a month if on benefits, maybe not worth it, but it's the principle. Hes self employed and told them he has zero income, eventhough he's just got a SE grant and us claiming UCs. So my award is nothing.
