Hy all.
I’m new to universal credit and wanted to know if they help with childcare. I am a Carer and on a sickness benefit. Child is 2.

It depends on your circumstances. When you say a carer do you mean a carer to a family member receiving carer's allowance or employed as a carer in, say, a care home? Also are you single or do you have a partner?

If you are working outside the home and you are a single parent you will get help with childcare costs.

Do you get sickness benefits for yourself? If so your child might be entitled to the free 15 hours childcare, my DS got it at age 2 as I was on certain benefits.

I think you need to be working outside of home for IC to contribute to childcare. But if you're on a low income (below 16,000 ish) you might get 15 funded hours. I think you apply through your council, then give the coad to your child care provider.
